Liposculpture at CT CosMedic 

CT CosMedic is proud to have introduced Smartlipo™ to Connecticut.  We were the first site in the state to offer this revolutionary new minimally-invasive procedure for body-sculpting, and we are the most experienced with it. Smartlipo™ is NOT liposuction, but rather "laser lypolysis."  It uses laser power to liquefy and destroy fat cells, while also stimulating collagen production for the added benefit of skin-tightening over the treated area.  At the same time, the laser cauterizes blood vessels, so there is minimal bleeding and bruising.

The laser fiber is introduced under the skin through a small needle, so the incisions are tiny. The entire procedure is performed with a local anesthetic solution placed in the area to be treated. Some sedative medication is also used. The liquified fat is easily suctioned out with a very small tube through the same tiny incision. You are entirely comfortable during the treatment. No stitches are needed, and the down time is very short. Most people go to work the next day. Healing is very quick, and post-operative discomfort is minor.

Smartlipo™ is made by Cynosure, a leading manufacturer of quality and cutting-edge aesthetic lasers.  Laser lypolysis with Smartlipo™ was approved by the FDA in November 2006, but it has been performed extensively in Europe and South America for several years with great results and an established safety record.

The first generation Smarlipo™ had 6 watts of total power. When we started Smartlipo™ in 2007, we used what was then the new 10-watt machine and now the latest (fifth) generation Smartlipo Triplex™ laser with "Smart Sense" and "ThermaGuide" technology helps us complete the procedure with better results and more powerful skin tightening. We are very excited to offer this amazing new machine!

Smartlipo™ is perfect for small to moderate sized problem areas of fat and loose skin that persist no matter how hard you exercise, and no matter how much weight you lose.  These areas are places where your body just wants to keep storing fat, and the only way to improve these areas are to either remove the fat surgically or to destroy the fat cells permanently. Once the fat cells are destroyed, they won't come back!

Popular areas for Smartlipo™ are the chin and neck, upper arms, abdomen, hips, saddlebags, thighs, back, and knees. The fat is destroyed and suctioned out, so it is gone immediately. Final results of skin-tightening can take 3-6 months, as the collagen stimulation is gradual.
