Some people call it "Smart Lipo", but it is actually one word. You may have read about this in the magazines or seen it on TV. This is an exciting new treatment designed to sculpt away problem areas of fat, without the pain, scars, or down time associated with traditional liposuction.

Many people are normal to slightly overweight, have a healthy lifestyle and exercise and work out. However, no matter how much they work at it, there are areas of fatty deposits on the body that just won’t go away! Smartlipo™ is perfect for these problem areas.

Smartlipo™ is actually laser-assisted lipolysis. A very small fiber (the size of uncooked Angel Hair pasta) is inserted through a small needle under the skin. The fiber transmits laser energy to the fat below the skin.  The fat cells are vaporized and destroyed - they will never come back!  At the same time, the laser cauterizes small blood vessels, minimizing bleeding and bruising. But perhaps the best part about Smartlipo™ is that the same laser energy that melts away the fat also tightens the skin above it, so that there is significantly less loose skin left after the fat is gone. This skin tightening takes up to 6 months to reach full effect, but some skin tightening is noticeable almost immediately.

Smartlipo™ is done in the office under local anesthesia along with oral or intramuscular medications. It is not painful, and you may go to work the next day!  Down time is limited to a few days of easy activity, and many people go back to work the next day!
